Why?

I've never truly questioned God until today? Why do so many prayers go unanswered? I have seen so many people hurt, really hurt, just in this past month, but especially today, that I wonder....Does He listen to His people? It sure doesn't seem so.

Vaccinations

This is how I feel today. No, I did not lay in the bed, and I worked, but I feel bad. Yesterday, Daphne and I went to get our shots for Africa. We had a tetanus shot, polio booster, meningitis shot, and a yellow fever shot. We were also given the pill form of the typhoid vaccine in which we have to take every other day for a week. I tell you, thank goodness for vaccines even though I feel bad today. I sure don't want to ever know what it feels like to have those diseases!

Saying goodbye to my childhood home

My parents built this underground house in 1984. This picture was taken before the landscaping was done...and obviously the grass needs to be cut!!

I went down to my old hometown to help my parents move from this house this weekend. My mom is retired and my dad will be retiring at the end of the year. They will be moving to a lake in North Alabama, which I am very excited about. However, it was a little sad to move them out of this home because this is the house that I grew up in...even though it has been over 10 years since I've lived there. We went back today to get a few more things out, and I took a moment to try to soak it all in. I looked around in each room and walked around in the yard looking at things that will only be a memory now, never to be seen by my eyes again. So goodbye to the old...you were a good house and hold good memories; however, I'm looking forward to the new memories to be made at the lake!

Long time, no blog

I know you all have been wondering where I have been. I guess my life hasn't been anything to blog about until this past weekend. Daphne, Celia and I spent a couple of days in Disney World to celebrate Independence Day! (Happy belated 4th of July to you all!) My vacations are of the type that you go so hard that you are totally exhausted when you get home. This one was no exception. We got up early, played hard, ate a lot, and went to bed more exhausted than ever, but we had a blast! We "met" lots of characters and experienced the magic of Disney! Enjoy the pictures!
