10 days of progress

My house is really coming up. I go by there every day or so to at least look, but most often to take pictures so I can have a record of the progress.

I went inside yesterday to take a few pictures.

Something I love about this house is the long hall from front door to the back door that goes out into the garage. It gives the house an open/larger feel. This is a picture looking from the garage to the front door.

As you can tell, things are really progressing....I can't wait to see what it looks like when the sheet rock goes in!

Having fun with Auntie

Daphne got a new computer that has a program that takes your picture like you are in a photo booth. Here are Ben and I having fun with that program!

Next post: An awesome week's worth of progress at my house!

The framing goes up!

As I rode through my apartment complex parking lot, I noticed some framing going up at my house...so I went by to take pictures of course! These were taken on my cell phone. I'll definitely have to get better ones with the real camera tomorrow or so.

Here is my progress!

This is the side you will see when you approach the house.

Trying to get more of a front view.

This is coming up on the opposite side of the house....probably won't see this view often.

Foundation

My new apartment overlooks my new subdivision....so I can see the progress on my house daily. I am happy to report that my foundation has been poured! I am on the way!!

Today has reminded me of Matthew 7:24-27
24"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash."

I am so thankful that I have the foundation of Jesus....though I'm getting a physical foundation poured today in which my house will be built, it is much safer knowing that my life's foundation is built on the rock of Jesus...I hope yours is too!

World's Best Realtor and Progress

I sold my condo today! I closed on it early this morning, and I'm very thankful. I never thought that we could close on time, but I have the world's best agent, and she made it happen! If you need an agent in the greater Birmingham area, you MUST use Gina Trent and her mother Mary Allen of Allen and Associates. Gina is awesome, and I wouldn't want anybody but her in my corner when it comes to buying or selling a house! She really stands up for you, is available at all hours of the day and night, quickly responds to your needs, and is very experienced! I promise you that she will get the job done....she has done it twice (soon to be 3 times when I close on the house I'm building) very successfully for me!

Now that I have sold my condo, I am moving into an apartment for a few months while my house is being built. I also have a great company building my house! I got an email today updating me on my progress. My foundation should be poured on Monday! I also went this past week to pick out all of my cabinets, floors, colors, faucets, etc....it should be awesome! I leave you with the latest picture of my house!

Happy Weekend!

Happy 4th of July!

To celebrate his official citizenship just in time for the 4th, I had a mini photo session with Ben so that I could practice using my camera again since it had been a while. Here is the best picture of the bunch! Isn't he just a doll?

I spent the holiday weekend with my family at the lake. I love going there! It can be as busy or restful as you want...but it's always fun, and there is always a lot of food! My dad grilled out on Friday so we could have it all weekend. Look at this meat...I think it's probably a vegetarian's nightmare!

Putting the barbeque sauce on the meat...my mom makes the best barbeque sauce!

Desserts abound! My dad has been talking about my MawMaw's pineapple upside down cake for a while. He decided to make one. This is the first cake I've ever known him to make...though he claims he has made one "sometime" in the past!

My mom's 4th of July cake

We went down to the water for the fireworks show. It was a great end to a fun, sun, family, and food filled day!

By the way...this is my 100th post! I hope you all are enjoying reading my blog!
