New Kids on the Block

Last night, I attended my FIRST NKOTB concert...20 years past when I wanted to! I must say that I've never been surrounded by so many people of my same demographic. There were so many white 20-35 year old women in that arena last night! I must say that I wasn't as excited as most, but I had a blast! They really put on a show! They did a lot of their old stuff mixed in with a little of their stuff from their new CD. My favorite quote of the night came from Celia. As we walked out of the concert, Celia said "I think my life might be complete!" She loved every single minute of it! I'll leave you with a few of my pics from the night.

You know you are getting old when....

buying a vacuum really excites you!!

This weekend, I went to the flea market at the state fairgrounds in Tennessee. Last summer, in order to get a free vacation, I let a rainbow vacuum salesman do a demonstration in my house. Since then, I've really been wanting one, but, if you know anything about them, they are VERY expensive! So....when I found one this weekend at the flea market, with a shampoo attachment nonetheless, for 1/4 the price, I went for it! My vacuum looks like it comes from the dark ages; however, I bet my carpet is cleaner that it has ever been! You should have seen the nasty stuff that I vacuumed up when I got home!

Here is my new purchase! Don't make fun of it!! I bet my carpet is cleaner than yours!


I also got very excited about another purchase I made. I must explain that when I was a child, I would make my Daddy get up very early in the morning on Saturdays to watch the Smurfs with me. I am a big Smurf fan so when I came across some glasses that Hardees sold back in 1983, I grabbed them!

There is also a set from 1982.....hmmm...maybe next time!

It's pumpkin carving time again!

Daphne and I went over to Stephanie's house to hang out with her and Kate tonight. We decided to carve pumpkins while we were there. Kate LOVES the Disney Princesses so I decided to buy the kit so that I could carve her a Princess....she chose Ariel from the Little Mermaid. Daphne decided to let Kate "draw" a face on a pumpkin...with her help of course. Here are a few pictures from the annual pumpkin carving!

I'm a Godmother...what's your superpower?

It's official...Benjamin Manasebot passed through court today, and Daphne is officially his mother. That means that today, I'm officially a Godmother!

Chuck Wicks, Jewel, and Brad Paisley

Last night, I had free 5th row tickets to see the Brad Paisley Party Tour at Verizon Wireless Music Center. (Thanks WZZK!) The seats were fabulous because, not only were they 5th row, but the were aisle seats. The show was fantastic. Chuck Wicks has to be the sexiest man in country music right now! Jewel did some of her old stuff...she even yodeled for us! Brad should win country music entertainer of the year. He puts on a heck of a show. The stage and screen that he uses just adds tons to the show. He is an awesome guitarist and has a ton of energy! It was a great way to start the weekend! Here are a few pictures of the show.
