Toto, I've a feeling we're not in college anymore.

I was lucky enough to take a trip to the holy land this weekend. Yes, I went to see Auburn take on LSU, and it was a very full event filled weekend. It all started on Friday. I was able to get to town a little early so my sister and I were shopping around for me an orange Auburn sweatshirt. We were at the new J&M bookstore. If you've ever been there, you know traffic flows in 1 direction in that parking lot....well, as I was backing out (and I swear I looked) I backed into a van. It broke my taillight and dented her back end. I really think she was backing up in the wrong direction, but I have no way to prove it so....now I'm waiting on the quotes from her to see how much that's gonna cost me. Surprisingly, I wasn't upset. I think that I was excited that my brother found my sister and I tickets to the game! (More to come on that one)

After that ordeal, I took Thad to get a haircut and grocery shopping...oh the days when you were in college and poor. I was glad to get to help him out. After dinner, Celia, Thad, and I sat on his front porch chatting for a while. I was ready for bed at 10:00, but my brother told me that was too early to go to bed...so I gave in to peer pressure for the first time that night. His roommate and girlfriend showed up...and they talked me into staying up even later (peer pressure again). Celia peer pressured me one more time, and I ended up staying up until 2. That is so not me! I like to get in the bed at 10...so 2 was a big deal....and I was tired the next day because of...can you say I'm getting old!! I don't know how those college kids do that weekend in and weekend out.

We decided to go to campus around 2:30 on Saturday to see the gameday set up, go to the AU bookstore, and to visit a friend's tailgate. However, as we walked past the stadium, a line was already forming to get in the student gate. Since we had student tickets, we decided to get in line so we could get good seats. We stood in line for 1 1/2 hours waiting on the gate to open. I watched all these college kids interact as we stood in line. I sure thought I was cool when I was that age...now I know I wasn't. The gates opened at 4:15...the game didn't start until 6:45. If you've ever sat in the student section, you know you have to stand up the entire game. So after standing in line for 1 1/2 hours, we stood from 6:45 until at least 10 minus halftime. I did this ALL the time while I was in college...but my body didn't like it much this time. I will say I had a blast until the end of the game. It is loud and fun in the student section for sure, but I think next time I'd rather have a seat and not have to wait in line...

Obviously, I'm not in college or made for college anymore. I sure can't stay up late and I don't like to stand in the student line. I guess I've grown up...sad!

Here are a few pictures from the weekend. Enjoy!

We all know that Auburn lost. However, it will always be great to be an Auburn tiger!
