You know you are getting old when....

buying a vacuum really excites you!!

This weekend, I went to the flea market at the state fairgrounds in Tennessee. Last summer, in order to get a free vacation, I let a rainbow vacuum salesman do a demonstration in my house. Since then, I've really been wanting one, but, if you know anything about them, they are VERY expensive! So....when I found one this weekend at the flea market, with a shampoo attachment nonetheless, for 1/4 the price, I went for it! My vacuum looks like it comes from the dark ages; however, I bet my carpet is cleaner that it has ever been! You should have seen the nasty stuff that I vacuumed up when I got home!

Here is my new purchase! Don't make fun of it!! I bet my carpet is cleaner than yours!

I also got very excited about another purchase I made. I must explain that when I was a child, I would make my Daddy get up very early in the morning on Saturdays to watch the Smurfs with me. I am a big Smurf fan so when I came across some glasses that Hardees sold back in 1983, I grabbed them!

This is the set I have.

There is also a set from 1982.....hmmm...maybe next time!

I believe you that your vacuum works well, but you obviously don't live in a multi-level home because there is NO WAY that I would be dragging that behemoth up and down two flights of stairs!!

I have to agree with Tarrah on the stair issue, but the vacuum is great! Thanks for letting me use it at my house!!! You're the best!

Seriously, congrats on your purchases. I just love getting bargains!
