Recipe for sheer exhaustion

Take 2 road bikes
Load on 1 child pull behind (a key ingredient)
Add in 2 bike wrecks
Leave some skin on the asphalt
Add in 1 snake
Sprinkle in a rain shower
Top it off with a little heat and road rash
Ride 50 miles

If you do the above, I can almost assure you that you will be exhausted beyond exhausted.

Daphne and I went to the Chief Ladiga trail outside of Anniston yesterday to ride and try out her pull behind that she got for Ben. Let's just say Ben will NEVER ride 50 miles with us. That stupid thing made it SO hard...I can't explain to you how hard it was just to pull a gallon of water in that thing. For you bike riders, it felt like you were in the hardest gear going up a hill the whole time. I love to ride that trail, and I think we might could have ridden to Georgia if we hadn't pulled the extra piece...but instead, it caused 2 crashes (one by each of us), and sheer exhaustion! On the road again...

I know you all out there can't believe that I have hobby other than going to Carrie Underwood concerts, but I do. I have been riding a road bike for about 3 years now. I will admit that I'm not hardcore....if it's too hot or too cold, I find other things to do, but I enjoy feeling the breeze in my face as I exercise. Daphne and I took our bikes out for the first time this season. This is the first weekend that I haven't had something to do in over 1 1/2 months, so we decided to get back on the road again. We road about 20 miles today...not too bad since it's the first time I've been on my bike since last summer! Here are some pictures of me to prove that I actually ride!

Grand Ole Weekend

My mom, dad, brother and I drove to Nashville this weekend to stay with my sister and celebrate Mother's Day. We ate, drank, and laughed a lot! It was good family time.

However, the truth be told, the real reason we went to Nashville was to see Carrie get inducted as a member of the Grand Ole Opry. I had purchased 6 tickets, 2 at a time, because I kept getting closer seats. Instead of trying to sell them on ebay or a broker site, I invited my whole family.

I learned on the way on Friday that the fan club had set up a group picture with Carrie before the induction. We had to be verified as members...once we were, we waited for Carrie to come join us. It just so happens that she stood right in front of me. I'll post the picture when they post it...I haven't even seen it yet! I was impressed that she would take a few minutes out of her day to come join us for a picture.

The Opry was awesome, as usual. Dierks Bently, Aaron Tippen, Vince Gill, Jimmy Dickens, Marty Stuart, and Mel Tillis are just a few of those her performed. However, the real surprise of the night was the person who actually inducted Carrie.....GARTH BROOKS was at the Opry. I cannot believe that I actually laid eyes on Garth Brooks...it was awesome. He did not perform, but I was stoked to actually see him. I'll let the pictures show you what I saw.

I stayed for the second show last night. Vince made Carrie dance with the Opry Square Dancers as "hazing". I was able to catch a quick video before my batteries died! To leave you with a smile...

The beginning of a new era

Today I began a new job. I have been a physical therapist for 4 1/2 years, and I have always worked in an outpatient orthopedic setting. Today I began working for a home health company. I must say that I really enjoyed the day. I think I'm really gonna like this new job!!

On a side note, I have been to multiple baby showers over the past 2 weeks. I helped to host one for Daphne for little Ben. Go here to check it out.

I also went to to the Crawfish Boil this past weekend. We saw Flo Rida, Corey Smith, Gavin Degraw, and Fergie....good times. Check out my sister's site here to check out a couple of pics.

I went to see Carrie and Keith perform in Atlanta last night. As you know, from my previous post, I won a backstage pass to meet Carrie though the fan club. It was AWESOME! The fan club members were placed at the back of the line (I'm assuming so that we could have more time with her) so I was able to watch her interact with many different people before me. She treated everyone so great, so personable. The first line of a Stevie Wonder song came to my head after I met her...Isn't she lovely. She's as beautiful in person, so tiny, and just made everyone feel important...ok, enough gushing. As for my experience, I hugged her when I first walked up to her. We talked briefly about Birmingham and a newspaper that I had her sign. I did get a picture with her, but I look terrible so you guys won't be seeing that one! Here are the 2 things she signed for me.






The concert was AWESOME! I know I said it when I saw her in Biloxi, but I'll say it again...she is growing into an awesome performer! I can't wait to see what she's like in a couple of years!




I stayed for Keith Urban this time....WOW!!! He is an excellent guitarist and he puts on a great show....not to mention he is HOT! Check these pictures of him out.

On another note, I met 2 ladies that I believe are bigger Keith fans than I am a Carrie fan. They are from the UK, and they flew in, over 4000 miles, JUST to see Keith in concert. They told me that the saw him last night, the night before, and they were headed to Kentucky tonight for the show. They missed Carrie's part of the show. When the finally got there, I told them that they missed the best part of the show, in which one of the ladies replied in a thick British accent, "I can't stand her." However, they were slightly apologetic when they found out I was a fan! I hope I'm having as much fun as they did when I am their age!

These are my new friends who have to be the biggest Keith Urban fans ever!
