CMA Fest Day 1

I have just enjoyed the most exhilarating, amazing, fun, yet exhausting (who knew having fun could be so exhausting??) weeks of my life....CMA Fest. I LOVE country music....it feeds my heart and makes me happy. Spending one week fully immersed in country music is my idea of a good time....so that's exactly what I did. I did so much, that I will have to break this blog up into multiple posts....so we start with the beginning.

If I can, I visit my favorite cupcake place, IveyCake when I go to Nashville. This is the loot this time!

I also got to visit with one of my favorite Nashville families. Betty has an amazing heart...if you ever get the chance to know her, do it...you won't regret it! Here she is with 3 of her 4 children.

The first event on agenda was the City of Hope Celebrity Softball game. Country music’s biggest stars go to bat in the fight against cancer every summer at the Nashville Celebrity Softball Challenge. Celebrating its 20th year, the event helps raise funds and awareness for City of Hope's lifesaving mission. Hailed as the unofficial kickoff to the CMA Music Festival, this high-profile game features country stars, athletes and celebrities taking the field to represent team sponsors Grand Ole Opry Live and After MidNite with Blair Garner.

I am for the Opry....because Carrie is on that team. Here I am ready for the game!

Look at her legs....girls, wouldn't you love to have legs like that?

The ultimate souvenir from the night...my signed hatch print by many of the country music artists!

Last but not least...yes, I LOVE country music and am very star struck, but this group of people is the reason the trip was so fun! Thanks guys! Looking forward to next year!

I almost forgot...I made the local news at this event.
