CMA Fest Day 2

It took me a while to blog about Day 2 huh....well...let's just say I've been to 3 MORE country music events. I think I'm all done with that until October, so maybe I can get caught up on this blog!

Day 2 may have been the most exciting day of the week in terms of what I go to do. Carrie had her fan club party that day. The party started at 3. We got in line at 11:30 in the Tennessee summer heat...dedication huh? It was actually fun! I got a chance to visit with people I don't see that often and make new friends!

The autographed lanyard we got when the doors finally opened at 2. (We were in line since 11:30...however, some people spent the night starting at midnight the night before!)


The fanclub party was amazing. Carrie did an acoustic set for the 800 of us in attendance. She and Nan Kelly, GAC host, then did a question and answer session....hilarious! Then she did a karaoke type contest with some of her songs. The winner received a round trip/hotel/tickets/meet and greet to a concert in the city of their choice! Keep in mind...this party was FREE!

After the fanclub party, my group headed to eat. While we were in Subway, we saw Mike Fisher, Carrie's fiance! Here is part of my group with Mike!


After dinner, we headed back to the venue to see the Grand Ole Opry. Unfortunately, the Opry house was damaged in the floods so the Opry was held at the Municipal Auditorium. I miss the Opry house, but it is only a part of what makes the Opry so special. It was an incredible night! I got to upgrade to front row seats right before the show...thanks Lisa! I met 2 great ladies while up there.

These ladies met at a fanclub party 30 years ago, and have been coming to CMA Fest, or Fan Fair as many call it, since then. They kept me entertained throughout the show!
